5 Essential Oils that can transform Your Skin

Essential oils are being used as remedies for the skin and many other ailments since the days of old. Even now, science has proven that there are a number of benefits these oils impart on your skin, which is why essential oils are very often found in skincare products.

Seriously, every good face mask, face wash, scrub and serum boasts about essential oils being an integral component. If you want to achieve radiant skin with the help of essential oils, here are my top five favourites;

Lavender

Lavender has been known far and wide for its soothing and calming qualities. Lavender has excellent abilities as massage oil but it works wonders for your face too. If you have scar tissue forming on your skin, if you have blemishes from the sun or if you want to clean a wound or a small cut, you can use this oil.

Also just dab a few spots of the oil on your face and massage gently for instant stress relief which also gives your face a healthy glow. The best part is that the Lavender oil can be used on all types of skin.

Frankincense

This essential oil too is suitable for all types of skin. It is renowned for its anti-inflammatory qualities which make it ideal for people who are prone to acne breakouts and otherwise sensitive skin. Frankincense is also said to have anti-ageing effects on the skin which as it is said to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and is also said to tighten the skin around your face.

Lemongrass

Lemongrass essential oil has astringent qualities. This means that it can tighten your skin and shrink the large pores opening up on your cheeks and nose. If you are tired of major acne breakouts happening on your face, lemongrass is your answer for that too. Use lemongrass essential oil as a toner for your face or just use it as a serum before you apply makeup as protection.

Tea Tree

Now who here has not been caught in the hype of tea tree oil? For those of you, who are unaware, know that tea tree oil is currently the best natural solution for acne breakouts and those menacing pimples. It is also ideal for anyone with excessively oily skin since it is known to help mattify shiny noses and foreheads in the T Zone. These are common places on our face that can struggle with excess oil, acne, and blackheads.

Chamomile

For those of us who are bestowed with dry and sensitive skin, we have the wonders of chamomile essential oil. It is wonderful for people who suffer from skin conditions like rosacea, psoriasis or eczema because of its hydrating and moisturising abilities and super gentle nature.

A combination of the skin conditions eczema and acne can be particularly worrying. Chamomile essential oil is a fantastic solution for this predicament because of it gentle nature and bacterial fighting properties.

** Please always use a patch test if you have sensitive skin and wish to try a new essential oil **
